Fundraised income supports our Vision
Our vision is to enhance the lives of people that we support working in partnership with them, their families and local communities, to provide a range of person-centred services and supports. This will enable each person to live life to the full, influence the decisions that affect them and actively participate in their community.
We believe that everyone should have choice and control in their lives and in decisions that impact them and we take a rights-based approach in everything that we do.
Annual Coffee Morning 2026
Members of the Golf Alliance attended the annual coffee morning in March at Horizons in Montenotte. Lorraine Egan (CEO Horizons) addressed the group and thanked them for their support. The 20th anniversary of the United Nations Convention of the Rights of Persons with a Disability in 2026 was discussed and how fundraised income allows us to be innovative in the ways that we support the goals and rights of people with disabilities.
Golf Alliance members received a talk on Independent Living from Molly O’ Keefe, Project Lead on Decongregation at Horizons, and a video highlighting some of the work that we do. The group then visited the Bonnington Training Centre (BTC). The BTC supports young people to develop important life skills and also offers a 3 year programme. The programme offers classes in art, gardening, textiles, computers, music and drama. The training programme aims to prepare each participant for greater autonomy and enhanced participation in their chosen life and work environments.
Sincere thank you to everyone involved in the Golf Alliance your support is greatly appreciated. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9PpPRNCJUQ&feature=youtu.be
