Team Horizons Shows Team Spirit

The Echo Women’s Mini Marathon took place on Sunday 21
st September with an incredible team of 60+ walkers and runners taking part in aid of Horizons.

This was our first Mini Marathon under our new name, Horizons, so it was a really special and meaningful day for us. It was fantastic to see people we support, staff, families, friends and companies from across Cork city and county all come together for a fun filled day.

Before the race kicked off, we gathered at the charity meeting point, kindly organised by Cork Athletics, in the Marina Market where we got to meet and chat to other amazing organisations.

Team Horizons gathered for group photos, and it was really empowering to see everyone in our new purple T-shirts, which were worn with pride!

The sun was shining throughout the race and raised everyone’s spirits. There were smiles, cheers and determination from beginning to end of the race. We were also thrilled to learn we won a 200euro cash prize draw after the race in Kennedy Park from Cork Athletics. This was a lovely and welcome surprise.

A huge thank you to every single person who turned out on the day to support us, it means so much to us and the people we support. We can’t wait to do it all again next year.
