Horizons is inviting golf enthusiasts to join them on the green for the 30th anniversary of the organisation’s annual golf classic.
The golf classic is now in its 30th year and funds raised over the years have helped to develop and maintain vital services and programmes that make a real difference in the lives of the people supported by Horizons.
The event takes place at Monkstown Golf Club on Thursday and Friday, June 4th and 5th and will bring together businesses and community leaders for a day of golf, networking, and giving back.
The registration cost for a team of four is €1,000 and includes green fees, refreshments, a two-course meal, goodie bags and competition entry.
There are also fantastic prizes up for grabs for the ‘Nearest The Pin Competition’ sponsored by Clarity Locums, ‘Longest Drive Men’s Competition’ sponsored by TTM Healthcare and ‘Longest Drive Women’s Competition sponsored by Filo Aesthetics.

The event was initially set up by Frank O’Flynn of OFX. Timmy Sheehan avails of the supports provided by Horizons. He will be playing in the golf classic as well as the upcoming Special Olympics. He said: “Being part of the Horizons Golf Classic is brilliant. It gives me the chance to play golf and represent Horizons in competitions. I train hard with my coach Michael Forde, and I really enjoy improving my game. It has been a big dream of mine to compete on this level. Being part of the Special Olympics means a lot to me. I really enjoy golf and it makes me feel proud to take part.”
Horizons is guided by the United Nations on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and provides support in line with Article 19.
